Cyerca Mask

The Cyerca Mask is a speculative design project that explores the intersection between tribal mask traditions and biomimicry. The project imagines how ceremonial or symbolic masks might evolve if their forms were influenced by biological systems, natural adaptations, and marine organisms. Inspired by the sea slug species Cyerce nigricans, the mask translates the creature’s flowing silhouette, delicate textures, and organic structure into a sculptural object that feels both ancestral and futuristic. The mask was 3D modeled using Gravity Sketch and ZBrush, then 3D printed in resin. The final piece was finished with an airbrush technique, giving the surface depth, color variation, and a refined organic quality.
