Cincta
Product Design2026
Mask inspired by the sea slug species Glossodoris cincta. Continuing from a similar biomimetic direction as the Cyerca mask, Cincta pushes the experiment further by covering the whole face and transforming the soft anatomy of a marine organism into a protective wearable form. The mask uses wide, flowing flaps to echo the slug’s mantle, creating a sense of movement around the face as if the surface were floating underwater. The dotted texture pattern references the markings found on the species, while the layered edges give the piece an organic softness despite its sculptural structure. Cincta explores the contrast between delicacy and coverage: a full-face mask shaped by the visual language of a fragile aquatic body.
