M.B.C
M.B.C — MSCHF Moving Blanket Collection The M.B.C (Moving Blanket Collection) is a conceptual garment series developed by MSCHF that reinterprets industrial protective textiles as structured fashion pieces. The collection transforms the iconic quilted moving blanket — commonly used for furniture protection during transportation — into outerwear and sculptural garments, shifting a purely functional material into a new cultural and aesthetic context. The design explores themes of protection, mobility, and displacement, using the recognizable stitched grid of the moving blanket as both structural and graphic identity. Voluminous silhouettes emphasize the padded construction, creating garments that feel simultaneously utilitarian and exaggerated, positioned between workwear, costume, and design object. By elevating a logistics material into fashion, the collection reflects MSCHF’s ongoing interest in reframing everyday systems through experimentation and material transformation. Yanly Erh contributed to the design development of the collection, supporting the translation of the material’s physical characteristics into wearable forms while maintaining the visual integrity of the original reference. The process focused on proportion, construction logic, and silhouette definition, allowing the material itself to become the core design language of the garments. In addition to the garment development, Yanly also contributed to the creation of new colorways for the 2x4 footwear, expanding the visual continuity of the collection through material-driven tonal exploration.
